Dottie
Dottie is a social girl who loves meeting her friends for coffee dates and nights out on the town. The latter tend to involve arts related events (what can she say, she’s a highly cultured penguin). Wednesday night she stopped by a Smithsonian Young Benefactors and Choral Arts Society Happy Hour at Hemphill Fine Arts. There she caught up with friends and checked out works by Steven Cushner and William Willis, escaping before any of the usual on the prowl not so young benefactors tried to start up a conversation with her. Thursday evening she attended a Corcoran Gallery of Art reception at a board member’s Watergate apartment. It was a lovely evening, and she had a wonderful time chatting with Corcoran staff and checking out the diverse private collection. She was particularly thrilled to encounter some penguin friends – the collector obviously has fabulous taste in art.
Thursday was a very social day; Dottie also caught up with a friend at Soho Tea & Coffee. They hadn’t seen each other in a while so there was lots of gossip to be had (and Dottie loves her gossip). She was also able to talk fashion with one of Soho's regulars, although she’s not certain the biker chic look is for her.
Dottie is a somewhat vain penguin, and knows that an active social life can take its toll on one’s figure. She is not willing to cut back on going out, so she makes certain to hit the Sports Club LA as often as possible. She forces herself to take definitions classes a few times a week as she’s not the greatest fan of weights (or squats for that matter).
Otherwise she can be found on the cardio machines reading a trashy magazine (she has to keep up on celebrity gossip too, after all).
